Itinerary

First day:

• Welcome and transfer from the Lima airport to the selected hotel.
• Welcome coca tea at the hotel.
• Tour in the City of Lima: Park of love, Explore the city downtown, San Francisco catacombs, explore San Isidro and plaza el Olivar. (in the afternoon from 2:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m.). IF YOU ARRIVE VERY EARLY WE CAN ALSO START THE CITY TOUR AT 10: 00 AM AND THEN FREE AFTERNOON IN LIMA FOR YOU
• Night in selected hotel.

Second day:

• Breakfast in the hotel. 
• Tour to the 3 pre-Inca shrines. 
• Visit Huaca Pucllana, Pachacamac and Huaca Huallamarca.
• Free afternoon (not included: you can do paragliding in Miraflores or a gastronomical tour)
• Night in selected hotel in Lima.

Third day:

• Early pick up and transfer to the airport to go to Puerto Maldonado.
• Transfer to the Madre de Dios river. 
• Motorboat ride to the lodge in the heart of the jungle.
• Visit the monkey island.
• Night in selected lodge.

Fourth day:

• Breakfast in the lodge. 
• Hike into the woods.
• Observation of the Apu Victor oxbow lake from a huge Lupuna tree. 
• Lunch in the lodge.
• Visit Gamitana river to see giant otters, caimans and turtles. 
• Night in selected hotel in the lodge.

Fifth day:

• Breakfast in the lodge.
• Hike to recognize medicinal plants and big trees.
• Lunch in the lodge 
• Explore the Lost oxbow lake to spot caimans, Sachavaca and giant otters.
• Night in the selected lodge.

Sixth day:

• Breakfast in the lodge.
• Take the boat to return to Puerto Maldonado.
• Private car to airport 
• Flight from Puerto Maldonado to Cusco 
• Night in the selected hotel in Cusco.

Seventh day:

• Breakfast at the hotel.
• Free morning.
• Tour in the City of Cusco: Cathedral, Qoricancha, Sacsayhuaman, Tambomachay, Qenqo and Tambomachay. (in the afternoon from 1:00 p.m.-6:30 p.m.).
• Night in selected hotel.

Eight day:

• Breakfast at the hotel.
• Tour to the Sacred Valley of the Incas. (Visit Chinchero, Moray, the salt ponds of Maras and Ollantaytambo, from 08:00 hrs – 16:00 hrs)
• Buffet lunch in the Sacred Valley.
• Travel by Inka Rail train from Ollantaytambo to Aguas Calientes (From 4:36 p.m. to 6:09 p.m.)
• Night in a hotel in Aguas Calientes (Machu Picchu).

Ninth day:

• Breakfast at the hotel.
• Bus ride to Machu Picchu.
• Guided tour to Machupicchu (7:00 hrs – 10:00 hrs).
• Bus down to Aguas Calientes.
• In the afternoon return by train from Aguas Calientes to Ollantaytambo (From 2:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.) arrival to Cusco at 6:30 pm.
• Transfer to your hotel in Cusco.
• Hotel night in Cusco.

Tenth day:

• Breakfast at the hotel.
• Free day to explore the plazas, streets and markets in Cusco.
• Hotel night in Cusco.

Eleventh day:

• Tour to the rainbow mountain (04:00 a.m. – 05:00 p.m.).
• Breakfast on the tour.
• Lunch on the rainbow mountain tour.
• Hotel night in Cusco.

Twelfth day:

• Breakfast at the hotel.
• Transfer from the hotel to the Cusco airport.
• Flight from Cusco to Lima (1h and 20 mins).

Description of the Tour Machupicchu Amazon Tour 12 days and 11 nights in Lima, Puerto Maldonado, Cusco, Sacred Valley with overnight in Machu Picchu and Rainbow Mountain.

Day 1: Reception and City tour in Lima “Gastronomical Capital of South America”.

After getting the airport in Lima a representative of IncaGo Expeditions Peru Tours will pick you up to take you to the hotel in Miraflores area. (Just take note that our representative will wait for you with a banner of our company in the international arrival area – (El Corral close to the first escalator).

Once to get the Hotel in Miraflores area you will have time to rest and have your breakfast included, at around 2:00 pm the City tour of Lima will begin with your private transportation and private tour guide, you will visit the following places (We can also start the Lima city tour in Lima at 10:00 am. According your arrival time to Lima):

1. Miraflores Downtown and the Park of Love.
2. Historical Center of Lima, the Country Hall.
3. San Francisco Monastery and Catacombs.
4. San Isidro and plaza el Olivar
5. The city tour will finish around 06:00 pm and then you will have time to taste a typical dinner in Miraflores area. 

Day 2: Tour of the Huacas in Lima and free afternoon.

After breakfast at the hotel, your guide will take you on an excursion to the three sacred Huacas of Lima. You will visit Pachacamac, Huaca Pucllana and Huaca Huallamarca. Places where you will learn a lot about the Andean worldview of Pre-Inca civilizations.

You will have the afternoon free so you can paraglide on the green coast of Lima or enjoy a gastronomic tour (Not included).

Day 3: Flight to Puerto Maldonado and Peruvian jungle tour. 

We will pick you up early from your hotel in Lima and take you to the airport to fly from Lima to Puerto Maldonado, where you will have an Amazon tour in the Tambopata national reserve.

Upon arrival in Puerto Maldonado, a representative of the agency will take you to the banks of the Madre de Dios River to board a motor boat that will take you 2 hours to the lodge. On the way, you could observe the alligators, turtles, herons and other animals.

Arriving at the Peru Amazon Lodge, you will enjoy the exquisite typical welcome drink and then you will settle into comfortable bungalows, afterwards you eat lunch. With the help of our specialized guide, we will visit Monkey Island, located just five minutes from the lodge, in the middle of the Madre de Dios River.

The monkey island hosts different monkey species: starting from the noisy ones, the Maquisapas, the happy Achuñis, and the very impressive Frailes to the very little and funny “leoncitos” little lions.

During the way to the Island, you will see very beautiful landscapes with all the flora and fauna that they host, as well as the amazing sunset in the jungle.

Day 4: Explore the best of the Peruvian jungle and Apu Victor oxbow lake.

A beautiful sunrise with the songs of the macaws; Then comes breakfast. We will begin our trip with a walk deep into the forest, special trails with causeways to cross the clearings. During the tour we will observe the caiman cave. Then we will continue and arrive at the majestic Lake Apu Víctor, beautiful crystal clear waters, surrounded by enormous swamps, giant trees and Aguaje palms.

Later we will go up to our Amazon Peru Tours observatory, where we will have a panoramic view of Lake Apu Victor, we will observe parrots, macaws, toucans, camungos, shanshos, herons, and if we are lucky we will be able to observe one of the most spectacular animals in the jungle, the otter. giant, after many hours, we will return to the lodge and have lunch. In the afternoon we will visit the Gamitana River, which originates in the heart of the Puerto Maldonado jungle.

On the shore of this majestic river we can see turtles, alligators, butterflies and some other animals. You can swim in its waters. In the afternoon we will return to the lodge for dinner and rest after a spectacular day exploring the Peruvian jungle.

** Today you will explore the depths of the Peruvian Amazon jungle and its beautiful Amazon meanders.

Day 5: Jungle exploration, touring the lost owbox lake.

After a nutritious breakfast, we will begin our adventure in the virgin jungle of the Peruvian Amazon, and accompanied by a local guide, we will take a walk deep into the jungle. We will explore the Cocha Perdida, an oxbow lake that constitutes a refuge and feeding ecosystem for a wide variety of animals. There we will have the best opportunity to observe Otters, Alligators, Turtles, Sachavacas (Tapires), birds with multicolored feathers, hopefully the majestic Jaguar and a variety of fish species. This area is unique and belongs to the Ecoamazónica Ecological Reserve that keeps it intact, with enormous swamps and various aguajales.

**Let’s explore the depths of the Amazon jungle of Tambopata and the Cocha Perdida.

Day 6: Jungle Peruvian tour and flight to Cusco

The day will begin with your last breakfast in the Jungle and after that, your boat and private bus will take you to the airport for taking your flight to Cusco, where you will arrive in the afternoon. 

You will spend the night in Cusco City

Day 7: City tour in Cusco.

After a nutritious breakfast in your hotel we will come to pick you up at 8:00 a.m. To start the city tour in Cusco, we will visit the main square of the millennial city of Cusco, the basilica cathedral, the Monastery of Santo Domingo, the Coricancha Temple and the nearby ruins of Kenko, Puka Pukará, Tambomachay and the Sacsayhuaman fortress, built with megalithic stones will blow your mind away. After a wonderful morning visiting historical spots of Cusco, we will transfer you off to your hotel. You will have the afternoon for free to rest and enjoy a bit more Cusco

Day 8: Tour to the Sacred Valley of the Incas and overnight in Machu Picchu.

The tour in the Sacred Valley of Peru begins at 6:30 a.m. with the pick-up from your hotel in Cusco, then we will visit the Sacred Valley of the Incas, where we will have the opportunity to meet and enjoy picturesque towns dedicated to the work of crafts, ceramics and agriculture. We will visit several tourist attractions in the Sacred Valley of Peru such as: Chinchero (textile market, colonial temple and archaeological site) then we will visit Moray (an agricultural experimentation center) and the salt mines of Maras, then we will go to the town of Urubamba to taste a delicious buffet lunch.

After lunch we will visit the Ollantaytambo ceremonial center, where there are still descendants of the Incas who live in the old Inca buildings, finally we will head to the Ollantaytambo train station, to board the train to Machu Picchu, which leaves at 4: 36 p.m. The train ride is approximately 2 hours to the town of Aguas Calientes, where we will arrive around 6:00 pm, where we will spend the night at the selected hotel. Aguas Calientes is the closest town to Machu Picchu.

Day 9: Tour to Machu Picchu «The lost city of the Incas»

After getting up very early and having breakfast, we will take a bus up to Machu Picchu, then a tour will be made with our guide through the lost city of Machu Picchu, for 3 hours. During the tour you will visit the most important sites of Machu Picchu such as: the main sacred square, the temple of the sun, the sundial, the royal quarters, the temple of the three windows and the temple of the condor. Concluded the tour in Machupicchu optionally: If you booked your additional tickets, you can trek to the summit of Huaynapicchu or Machu Picchu Mountain, this will take a few hours, in which you will be able to enjoy the landscape and take in some amazing views (This visit is without a guide). Then we will go down by bus to Aguas Calientes and in the afternoon we will take the train back to Ollantaytambo, where our staff will be waiting for you, to transport you by bus to the city of Cusco and transfer you off to your hotel.

** To do a tour in Machu Picchu privately is the best way to enjoy it fully.

Day 10: Free day to explore Cusco

You will have a complete free day in the beautiful city of Cusco. Cusco is known as the archaeological capital of south America and so it has to many wonders to visit. In the morning you can visit the San market, where you will see more than 1000 stalls with many interesting and bizarre things typical to the Andes. 

In the afternoon you can go the planetarium and learn more about Inca constellations or visit the San Cristobal overview to have a fantastic view of Cusco city at night. 

** Explore Cusco by yourself and gain a deep Andean experience 

Day 11: Tour to Vinicunca rainbow mountain

Early in the morning at 4:00 a.m., we will pass by your hotel in our tourist transport, and then move for 2 hours to the town of Cusipata. Where we will enjoy a delicious buffet breakfast (scrambled eggs, cheese, ham, fruit salad, hot drinks, etc.). We will continue for about 50 minutes to the rainbow mountain checkpoint, that is where we will start the hike. Once you reach this point, our guide will give you instructions and recommendations to successfully reach this natural wonder.

The hike up will last us approximately 1 hour and 40 minutes until we reach the rainbow mountain at 5020 meters. On the way we will observe the fauna and flora of the area, highlighting the llamas and alpacas that are in the care of shepherds, dressed in beautiful typical costumes of the region. Then passing through beautiful ravines heading to the highest parts, surrounded by snow-capped peaks (Ausangate, is the highest in Cusco).

Almost upon reaching the top we will observe the change in the landscape, the colorful mountain range of Vinicunca. Arriving at this point between 10:30 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. Here our guide will explain in detail about the orography, ecosystem and color of the mountain, and then take the most beautiful photos of the Rainbow Mountain from the main viewpoint.

Being able to see the beautiful landscape from 5080 meters is a unique and unforgettable experience, after that we will take the return route through the viewpoint of the Red Valley of red mountains.

Walking on this landscape, considered an Andean desert, will be the last visit to another point in the Vinicunca mountain range. The red valley is an exceptional place to take photos for Instagram. Then we will return to Llaqto, where our vehicle will be waiting.

Then we will have our delicious buffet lunch with a great variety of Novo Andean food. Then we will return to the city of Cusco, arriving at approximately 5:00 p.m.

Day 12: Farewell and air travel from Cusco to Lima

Having a good breakfast, we will pick you up from the hotel where you are staying and we will take you to the airport of the city of Cusco, which is a few minutes from the center of Cusco, we must be at least an hour before to make the arrangements for flight confirmation, after checking in with the airline that we will fly and paying the airport tax, we will say goodbye and take the flight from Cusco to Lima.
