Palcoyo Mountain – One Day Hike

While the Rainbow Mountain boils with thousands of tourists every day. Just 20 kilometers to the south, there is not only one; but rather a combo of three Rainbow Mountains. This dazzling Palcoyo Mountain hike, is visited by very few people everyday. To reach its summit; It only requires a gentle hike of one hour; making it a less demanding alternative hike than the trek to Rainbow Mountain.

Palcoyo, is located very close to the highest snow-capped peak in Cusco and the fourth highest in Peru, the imposing Ausangate. This medium-sized mountain range overwhelms us with its colors of such vivid hues. Also Palcoyo, is known as the «mountain range of colors» for being composed of 3 mountains of shades ranging from ocher to red; passing through green, blue and white stripes in the middle of a wild and magical landscape with brown, reddish valleys and a spectacular viewpoint in the middle of a stone forest.
