The short Inca trail to Machu Picchu is one of the most beautiful and popular trails in the world. This trail allows the hiker to enjoy spectacular landscapes of the cloud forest, imposing Inca ruins and hike on an ancient trail that connected the sacred city of Cusco with the world wonder Machu Picchu. Our 3-day premium program called Experiential Short Inca Trail Tour, allows you to combine the best of the conventional short Inca trail with a royal Inca trail that connects Chinchero with Urquillos, a town in the Sacred Valley of the Incas. Plant and harvest agricultural products in a local farm in the sacred valley. Feed guinea pigs and enjoy a typical Andean lunch: Pachamanca, a delicious barbecue cooked with hot stones underground. On the 1st day you will hike downhill for 4 hours on a 600 year old paved Inca trail and visit a 70-meter waterfall called Poc Poc. For lunch you will arrive at Urquillos, a beautiful agricultural town in the sacred valley. Here you will visit a local farm where you will harvest seasonal fruits and vegetables, in addition to feeding alfalfa to the guinea pigs that live in the kitchens of the houses. In the afternoon you will taste an exquisite Andean barbecue called Pachamanca and you will sleep in the town of Ollantaytambo. On the second day, you will tour the short Inca trail and visit the imposing Inca ruins of Chachabamba and Wiñaywayna. You will also be able to observe many types of endemic birds and orchids of the Inca Trail. In the afternoon you will contemplate Machu Picchu from the sun gate and then you will hike to the viewpoints of Machu Picchu to take your memorable postcard photos. At night you will sleep in the picturesque town of Aguas Calientes. On the third day you will return by bus to the Inca citadel of Machu Picchu to explore it from corner to corner on a 3-hour guided tour. In the afternoon you will return by train to Cusco, where you will arrive around 7 at night.
